Michael Rosenbaum, who portrayed Lex Luthor on Smallville, is interested in appearing in Peacemaker season 2. While The CW has been the primary home for DC TV content, HBO Max has become the streaming equivalent as Warner Bros. has started rolling out new content based on the DC Universe. Through James Gunn's The Suicide Squad, the HBO-branded platform has begun to launch spinoffs from the films. The first character to get their own solo-show was John Cena's Peacemaker, focusing on Christopher Smith's standalone adventures. Taking place after the latest Suicide Squad installment, Peacemaker sees the titular «hero» join forces with A.R.G.U.S. as they take on Project Butterfly.
Prior to the Peacemaker season 1 finale, HBO Max recently confirmed that the DC drama will be back for season 2. Gunn is set to write and direct all the episodes, which is likely going to be another eight-episode order. As of right now, the streamer has not indicated when Peacemaker season 2 is supposed to start shooting, though it's likely that work will begin once Gunn is finished with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Given the big success of the series, HBO Max will likely do whatever it can to get Peacemaker season 2 sooner rather than later.

While details for Peacemaker season 2 likely won't emerge until later this year, Smallville's Rosenbaum is already wanting to join the show's cast. Best known as the actor to have played Lex Luthor the longest, Rosenbaum congratulated Gunn, who is a good friend of his, on Twitter for getting the Peacemaker season 2 renewal. In the process, he expresses big interest in starring in the HBO Max series. See the tweet below:
SO FREAKING HAPPY FOR YOU GUYS!!!
