Today, Konami and Genvid Entertainment have announced a new SILENT HILL, but this will be a bit different in its design. SILENT HILL: Ascension will be an interactive streaming series that expands on the SILENT HILL universe that will feature multiple main characters around the world. These characters will confront their trauma from the horrors unleashed in their communities. This will be an exploration of intergenerational trauma as fans will have direct and permanent influence on the story and the characters. Konami has stated that this will be considered canon in the franchise.
Monsters will threaten to consume people, their children, and entire towns as they are drawn into the darkness by recent murders and long suppressed guilt and fears. The actions of millions will determine the outcome. Who will survive and who will be left redeemed, damned or suffer? Ascension will feature an extensive ensemble of intricately developed characters and monsters set in locations in the SILENT HILL universe. Konami and Genvid are promising high-fidelity visuals across devices as no official platforms have been announced. Ascension will be available later in 2023 with live story moments where each day is different than the last based on audience reactions.
