With the upcoming release ofFractures in Time on July 11th, World of Warcraft is about to get a new dracthyr specialization option, the Augmentation Evoker. There are layers to Augmentation, and a new guide gives a deep dive into what it is, the skills you will use, and how to effectively augment your allies.
Blizzard has called Augmentation a support specialization, but it is also a damage dealer role. In this new deep dive, they do say it is a damage dealer role and with good reason. You're a force multiplier, so you are boosting your allies’ overall damage output, and yours, both directly and indirectly.
The official description says that Augmentation “Imbues allies with the might of the Black dragons, and bends time & fate in their favor with Bronze magic”. Preferred weapons being staff, sword, dagger, and mace. This specialization will let you further specialize in Bronze or Black magic and find different ways to boost your allies by doing so.
If you already have experience playing a dracthyr Evoker, then you’ll find some things familiar, like spending Essence, strategic mobility in battle, and empowered spells. How Black and Bronze work together are what distinguishes this new specialization. Some abilities include Eruption, Which causes an eruption beneath an enemy, dealing volcanic damage to the target enemy and any others nearby. Using this increases the duration of Ebon Might.
Ebon Might increases your four closest allies’ primary stat by a percentage of yours, and boost Eruption with increased damage for 10 seconds. You can extend these effects through spells like Eruption. Upheaval is another spell that deals volcanic damage, knocks enemies upwards, and extends Ebon Might’s effects.
