Bloober Team and Konami’s Silent Hill 2 remake didn’t exactly put its best foot forward with its combat-focused trailer earlier in the year (a sentiment that even Bloober Team agrees with), but even though the game has attracted some skepticism, given its significance to fans of the Silent Hill franchise, it continues to be one that many are hoping to hear more about soon. And it seems like Konami might be preparing to kickstart that process.
As shared by @ResiEvilCentral on Twitter, it looks like Silent Hill 2’s marketing campaign could be kicking off in full flow soon, with posters of the game allegedly having been spotted in GameStop stores. Interestingly, said posters also show an ESRB rating for the game, even though one hasn’t yet been publicly shared by the ratings board.
Age ratings tend for games tend to come when they’re approaching launch, more often than not, and that combined with the appearance of these marketing posters could suggest that Konami is preparing to start Silent Hill 2’s marketing cycle in earnest, hopefully ahead of a release not long from now.
Earlier this month, the game was rated in South Korea. Prior to that, Motoi Okamoto, Silent Hill series producer at Konami, said that the remake was in the final stages of development.
Konami itself has yet to officially announce a launch date for Silent Hill 2, but according to PlayStation, it’ll be out this year.
