Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew will be getting two major expansions on December 6th, marking the final content not just for the game, but for developer Mimimi Games too. Each expansion pack will feature a brand new character, new story campaigns, and new islands on which to test your tactics.
The details are scarce on who the characters will be what and the islands will look like, with the description saying:
In our Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew review, I wrote, “Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew is a challenging tactical game with a fun story and characterful crew. The varied missions do a good job of giving you plenty of options for how to tackle them, leaning into different crew abilities. There’s a few rough edges, but Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew’s treasure hunt is well worth partaking in.”
In August, Mimimi Games confirmed that Shadow Gambit would be its last release and that the studio would be closing down. This isn’t because of game launches underperforming or financial hardship, but rather because, after 15 years of making games with very little downtime, founders Dominik Abé and Johannes Roth felt it the right time to call it a day and put life, family and personal well-being first. Staff were told of this plan and also promised bonus pay as a result of releasing of Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew.
