Seriously, Every Outfit From The Barbie Movie Is Better Than The Last
Several outfits from Greta Gerwig's Barbie movie have been revealed, and each has been better than the last. The film — starring Margot Robbie as the titular Barbie and Ryan Gosling as her counterpart, Ken — is set to release in summer 2023. Several behind-the-scenes shots released on Twitter have already given viewers a taste of the aesthetic they can expect for the world's most famous fashionista come to life — and Barbie certainly isn't disappointing.
Based on the iconic toy line by Mattel, Barbie will be the first live-action movie after a long line of animated films. It has been in production for some time now, passing through the hands of creators like Diablo Cody and Amy Schumer — who was originally cast as Barbie before Robbie — before landing with Robbie and Gerwig in 2019. The details of Barbie's plot are still largely under wraps, but creators have stressed one thing: expect the unexpected. Several stars have signed on to appear throughout the film, including names like Will Ferrell, Simu Liu, Ncuti Gatwa, and many more.

So far, the outfits that have been revealed for Barbie look like they've come straight from a Mattel box themselves. The ensembles — three in total — manage to pay homage to Barbie outfits of the past without looking dated. The first outfit reveals came with Warner Brother's film announcements, showing Robbie in Barbie's iconic pink convertible and Gosling in an even-more iconic denim vest and platinum hair combo.
