As Season Nine continues to unfurl its sails, Sea of Thieves is introducing a series of gameplay improvements set to enrich the seafaring experience. The latest update, released on June 15th, brings a host of enhancements that focus on player experience and game balance.
One of the key improvements is the reduction in cannonball knockback for players on Galleons or Brigantines. This change ensures that the impact from cannonball splash damage will not send players soaring into the air, reducing the risk of an unexpected dip in the ocean. However, pirates should still brace themselves for a disorientating blast.
The Captains of Adventure also see a balance in their journey. A considerable number of Pirate and Ship Milestones have been adjusted to make the progression of gaining Classes smoother. Additionally, the cost for saving cosmetics to a Captained ship has been eliminated, making this function now free. YARGH! The gold cost for purchasing ship decorations and Trinkets has been significantly reduced, making it easier for players to customize their vessels, which is undoubtedly going to make a lot of pirates out there happy to show off their swag. You'll definitely want to check out the Season 9 video to see everything that the latest update has to offer.
Looking ahead, Sea of Thieves is set to embark on an exciting collaboration with The Legend of Monkey Island. This crossover, as we previously reported, is set to begin in July, introducing three new Tall Tales and allowing players to explore iconic locations like Mêlée Island and interact with beloved characters like Guybrush Threepwood.
As we navigate through these exciting changes, we look forward to seeing how these updates will enhance the Sea of Thieves experience
