Resident Evil 4 Remake is about to get new achievements on Steam, hinting that an expansion is on the way. While we can't see what these achievements are right now, they're likely related to either a VR mode or the Separate Ways expansion, as we know both of these are in development.
This development was just spotted on Steam, and Capcom hasn't commented on the update. However, it seems very likely that we can expect an official announcement soon, especially if the achievements are already ready to go for whichever expansion comes first.

Judging from the chatter online, it seems that most fans have their hearts set on Separate Ways, the story expansion starring Ada Wong. This was originally available in the Resident Evil 4 base game, so it was disappointing to see that it didn't make it into the initial launch of Resident Evil 4 Remake. Still, that could just mean Capcom is (hopefully) spending more time to make sure it's ready, and possibly even expand it from the original.
The VR mode wouldn't be amiss either. Capcom has been dedicated to this unique way of playing for some time now, releasing both Resident Evil Village and the original Resident Evil 4 in VR. The studio had already made it clear that 4 Remake would be the same treatment, releasing it for free on PlayStation 5. Some had feared that this meant the VR mode would be exclusive to PSVR 2, but much like the original Resi 4, it could be on Meta Quest as well. If that's the case, that could be what the new Steam achievements are referring to.
If not, and it does stick with PS5 only, then it's almost guaranteed that the Steam update is referring to Separate Ways.
