Scream 6: Matthew Lillard Shares Poster Art Calling For Stu's Return
A mock poster for a hypothetical Scream 6 shared on Twitter is calling for the return of Matthew Lillard's Stu Macher, and not only has the actor taken notice, he's asking for his fans' thoughts on the idea. Lillard played Stu in the first film in the perennial horror franchise. A seemingly harmless goofball, Stu's family home acted as the setting for the slasher's third act, where it's revealed that he's actually been one of the Ghostmask-wearing killers terrorizing Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) and the town of Woodsboro, California.
The last time viewers saw Stu, he'd been stabbed multiple times by his partner in crime, Billy Loomis (Skeet Ulrich), before seemingly being electrocuted to death when Sidney dropped a TV on his head. However, director Wes Craven's original vision for Scream 3 would see Stu return. While it's anyone's guess as to how Stu would have survived his injuries sustained in the first movie, the fact that Craven apparently considered the character to still be alive in-canon had fans speculating that Stu would make an appearance in this latest installment. While that wasn't meant to be, Lillard did make a cameo in Scream, though it was only his voice. Now, people are already campaigning for Stu to make his grand return if a Scream 6 is coming in the future.

Yesterday, Creepy Duck Design shared a photo of a mock poster for Scream 6 on Twitter. It shows the now-iconic Ghostface mask, but it's clearly aged and well-worn. All that can be seen of the person under the mask is what looks to be a scarred right eye. It's captioned with the hashtag #bringbackstu.
