Samuel L. Jackson has giving some exciting filming updates for the Phase 4 MCU projects, The Marvels and Secret Invasion. The actor is set to reprise his role as the former S.H.I.E.L.D. head Nick Fury in both the Captain Marvel sequel and the upcoming Skrull-centric Secret Invasion Disney+ series. Fury was last seen in the post-credits scene ofSpider-Man: Far From Home, which saw the Skrull Talos (Ben Mendelsohn) discuss Spider-Man's activities on Earth, as Fury is in space on a Skrull ship.
Marvel boss Kevin Feige recently revealed that the Secret Invasion series will be set partly during the Blip, the five year period in which half of the universe was erased by Thanos (Josh Brolin) after Avengers: Infinity War. However, Fury was part of the half that was «Snapped,» causing many to speculate how Fury would be resurrected (or simply replaced by Talos) for the duration of the series. With no release date officially revealed, Secret Invasion is expected to land on Disney+ sometime in 2023. The Captain Marvel sequel, The Marvels, is also slated for a 2023 release. While plot details are still largely under wraps, the MCU film will see Carol Danvers (Brie Larson), Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris), and Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) team up.
