Samuel L. Jackson Freaked Out Meeting Olivia Colman on Secret Invasion Set

Actor Samuel L. Jackson fawned over his Secret Invasion castmate Olivia Colman upon their first on-set meeting. TheSecret Invasion mini-series was announced back in December 2020 alongside several other Marvel projects as part of the Disney Investor Day presentation. The series starring Jackson as Nick Fury was said to begin filming in April 2021 and was later confirmed to be in production by Jackson via an Instagram post.

It was also around this time, April 2021, that Colman was in talks with Marvel about her involvement in the Secret Invasion series. Colman's long since cemented herself as a household name, with an extensive resume that highlights her immense talents. It's likely that Colman is a familiar face to many regardless of genre preference as the actor shows off a wide acting range with historical dramas like The Crown under her belt as well as comedies like Fleabag and Hot Fuzz.

In a clip from «Samuel L. Jackson In Conversation With Josh Horowitz» posted on Twitter by @musterde6, Jackson talks giddily about his experience working with Colman on the Secret Invasion set. When the two first met, Jackson was completely overwhelmed with excitement to be working with the other actor. Jackson was constantly in awe of her performance while filming scenes together. Apparently, the adoration went both ways as Jackson reveals that Colman had a matching affable reaction in response to his, which is unsurprising due to Jackson's similar international acclaim.
