Samuel L. Jackson Confirms Martin Freeman Returns in Secret Invasion
Samuel L. Jackson has confirmed that Martin Freeman is set to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the upcoming Disney+ series Secret Invasion. Freeman's character Everett Ross, a CIA agent, made his debut in 2016's Captain America: Civil War and later appeared in 2018's Black Panther. He is also confirmed to come back in this year's sequel, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige announcedSecret Invasion during 2020's Walt Disney Investor Day event as part of the MCU's upcoming Disney+ lineup. The show will be based on the popular Marvel comic event and will focus on "a sect of Skrulls who have infiltrated every level of life on Earth." Already confirmed to appear in the show are Jackson, reprising his long-time role as Nick Fury, Ben Mendelsohn, reprising his role as the Skrull Talos from Captain Marvel, and Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke, whose character has not yet been revealed.

During an on-stage talk titled «Samuel L. Jackson In Conversation With Josh Horowitz» in New York City (via The Direct), Jackson let slip that Freeman is part of Secret Invasion's cast. As Horowitz was listing off cast members of the upcoming series during the presentation, Jackson interrupted to say Freeman's name. This is the first time Freeman has been mentioned in regards to Secret Invasion.
As Marvel Studios has not yet begun the marketing campaign for Secret Invasion, the upcoming show is still shrouded in mystery. Anything that has been seen has been from leaked set photos and videos, such as one including Clarke in an action scene with someone in a motion-capture suit. But even the leaked images haven't revealed much
