Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the next big feature film from Marvel Studios, is rumored to include many mind-boggling cameos of old and new comic characters, with one being Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool. With the film's release date approaching, Reynolds has now addressed the rumors.
First starring as the wisecracking anti-hero in 2016'sDeadpool, Reynolds' portrayal was immediately met with rave reviews, as he would go on to reprise the role in 2018's Deadpool 2. After the merger between Disney and Fox in 2019, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has confirmed that a third Deadpool film is in the works and will take place in the ongoing cinematic universe while also maintaining its R-rating.
The Doctor Strange 2 Rumors Are The Worst Ones Yet
With speculation brewing that Deadpool could make his MCU debut sometime soon, perhaps in theDoctor Strange sequel, Reynolds has now responded to the growing rumors. Promoting his upcoming sci-fi adventure film for Netflix,The Adam Project, Reynolds confirmed to Variety, «I’m really not in the movie, I’m promising, I’m not in the movie.” It's of course very possible that Reynolds is not telling the truth, as star Andrew Garfield lied many times about his return as the web-slinger in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
While it would be exciting to see Deadpool incorporated into the film in some way, knowing Deadpool 3 is officially in the works is a big sigh of relief for fans as it is. Until his time to shine in the MCU comes, Doctor Strange 2 will surely have plenty of familiar faces to fill its runtime )Patrick Stewart's Professor X/Charles Xavier has already been confirmed to show up in the film, as his voice can be heard in the latest mind-blowing trailer).
