Grand Theft Auto 6 is finally happening. The first trailer will be with us on December 5, next Tuesday. We even have the exact time, with Rockstar promising the first trailer will drop at 9am ET/2pm GMT.
This is sooner than many of us were expecting. Rockstar had already confirmed that the reveal would be in early December, and this led many of us to believe that it would be unveiled at The Game Awards on December 7. Now, we now that Rockstar will be handling the reveal itself, finally giving fans a taste of the long-awaited GTA 6 in just a matter of days.
We have remarkably little to go on right now, but that isn't stopping fans from speculating on what the trailer will show us. Indeed, few studios could get away with dropping a release date for a trailer, but here we are. When your sequel has been a decade in the making, fans will take what they can get.
The fact that Rockstar is calling this Trailer 1 means we shouldn't expect everythingto be revealed on Tuesday. In fact, it's not even clear if we'll be getting a release date. But given how long fans have waited, anything resembling gameplay will likely be enough. It's safe to assume we'll get a good look at the new protagonists too, who we already know to be a couple called Jason and Lucia, thanks to leaks.
As I'm sure every single Grand Theft Auto fan is well aware of by now, it's been a painfully long road getting to GTA 6's official reveal. We've known about the next game being in development for quite some time, but a huge leak in 2022 gave us our first glimpse at the game and somehow made the whole wait a lot more painful.
Since then, we've not really heard anything much about the game beyond Take-Two Interactive investor's calls hinting at its release date
