Robert Pattinson still finds Batman Returns disturbing. Releasing in theaters on March 4, Matt Reeves' bold Batman reboot debuts the former Twilight star as the sixth live-action iteration of the Caped Crusader to grace the silver screen following big names like Ben Affleck, Christian Bale, and George Clooney. Michael Keaton was the first actor to don the cape and cowl for a feature film, staring with 1989's Batman and returning for its 1992 sequel Batman Returns, both from the gothic mind of director Tim Burton.
While Pattinson is the face of DC's new era of Batman, the original pioneer in the field, Keaton, will be returning to reprise his role for the movie set in the DC Extended Universe, The Flash, thanks to some multiverse shenanigans reminiscent of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Keaton will also return for another upcoming DCEU movie, Batgirl, as his Bruce Wayne seemingly takes on a mentor-type role to some of DC's up-and-coming younger heroes like Barry Allen (Ezra Miller), Barbara Gordon (Leslie Grace), and Supergirl (Sasha Calle). This, of course, wouldn't be possible if it weren't for Burton's seminal Batman movies.

Speaking with BBC Radio 1, the actor recalls watching the 1992 film as a kid and being terrified by Danny Devito's performance as the Penguin, and isn't afraid to admit he is still disturbed by it to this day.
