Robert Pattinson says he would love to be cast in a Planet of the Apes sequel. The actor, who has appeared in a variety of projects that range from Twilight to Tenet, is currently lighting up the big screen as Bruce Wayne in The Batman, which hit theaters on March 4, 2022, and is on its way to being the best DCEU opening weekend since Suicide Squad in 2016. The film features a brand new cast playing an ensemble of familiar characters, including Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as The Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred, and Colin Farrell as The Penguin.
The film was directed by Matt Reeves, who first struck gold as a feature director with the 2008 giant monster film Cloverfield. After following that up with the 2010 horror remake Let Me In, he was swept up into the blockbuster franchise big leagues. He was tasked with directing 2014's Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, the follow-up to the 2011 Apes reboot/prequel Rise of the Planet of the Apes. That film was such a success, both critically and commercially, that he returned to helm 2017's War for the Planet of the Apes as well.

When Pattinson was speaking with Variety recently, he was asked why he decided to say yes to working on The Batman with Reeves. Pattinson revealed that he signed on partially because he loves Reeves' Planet of the Apes films, adding that there are only three franchises he'd want to appear in a sequel to, with Apes being one of them. He said "I just thought what he could do with mo-cap was just so unbelievable. If he could do that with a monkey's face, then he can get a performance out of me as well." Read his full quote below:
