Riot Games' Project L has been rebranded to 2XKO.
The League of Legends fighting game is coming to PC, as well as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S, in 2025. In a video update, 2XKO's executive producer Tom Cannon wrote that the title is "entering a new phase of development" as the Riot team prepares to show the game off more often.
Cannon says that it is going to have playable demos at a variety of events, including April's Evo Japan.
"Our dev team has grown significantly... and things are really ramping up," Cannon said.
"We still have a lot of game left to build, but we're far enough along that it's time to start sharing more with you over the coming year.
"Overall, we're building an always-evolving fighting game for the FGC [fighting game community] and there's so much to be excited for!"
Project L was announced back in October 2019.
Its transformation into 2XKO comes hot on the heels of Riot cutting 530 jobs and closing its Forge publishing label.
