Rumors have swirled that the ninth chapter in the saga will feature some major changes to the standard formula which may be why it's already being delayed.
Over on X (formerly Twitter), reputable leaker AestheticGamer aka Dusk Golem, who has an excellent track record when it comes to predicting and Capcom news,wrote that those expecting an announcement regarding in the summer of 2024 will be disappointed.
They allege that the game has been internally pushed back to target a late 2025/2026 release date, meaning it would likely be revealed closer to the end of 2024. The reason for the supposed delay is currently unknown but Dusk Golem claims Capcom is also working on other projects.
