Nearly a decade and a half on from its launch, the original Red Dead Redemption remains a veritable masterpiece of open world experiences, and recent developments have suggested that we might soon have the chance to dive into its Wild West setting once again. Rockstar’s 2010 game recently received a fresh rating in South Korea, which was soon followed by an update to the game’s Social Club achievements, sparking speculation that a remaster or re-release of some sort could be on the horizon.
As per journalist Colin Moriarty, that is indeed the case. Speaking recently on his Sacred Symbols podcast, Moriarty corroborated recent reports, stating that based on what he’s seen, a remaster of Red Dead Redemption is in the works, and could actually be closer to release than many might expect, with a potential announcement slated for August.
In May last year, reports claimed that Rockstar was working on a Red Dead Redemption remaster, though later in the year, it was reported that plans for the remaster had been shelved, with the company instead choosing to focus on the development of Grand Theft Auto 6.
