Red Dead Redemption 2 could be in line for a surprise launch on the Nintendo Switch, as per a classification rating for the game in Brazil.
As spotted by @necrolipe on Twitter, the 2018 open world epic has been rated for the Nintendo Switch by the Brazil ratings board. Obviously, a Switch release for Red Dead Redemption 2 hasn’t been officially announced, but this rating could indicate that one is on the horizon.
Leaks have suggested that native PS5 and Xbox Series X/S ports of the title were also in the works at some point, but were allegedly shelved last year. Last month, however, Rockstar brought the original Red Dead Redemption natively to PS4 and Switch.
If Red Dead Redemption 2 does indeed come to the Switch, it should be interesting to see what sort of sacrifices it will have to make to be able to run on the hardware. Of course, there is a chance that it turns out to be a cloud port, though cloud ports don’t receive ratings in Brazil, so there’s that.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is currently available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and has shipped over 55 million units worldwide. Read our review of the game through here.
