The pumpkin spiced lattes have appeared in a certain coffee chain and that means that Halloween is on it’s way. Another indication that All Hallows’ Eve is immanent is the sudden rush of horror games, with NACON and Hekate studio’s starting the race with an atmospheric trailer for their new game, Ad Infinitum.
The game has playing as a young German soldier haunted by the horrors of the Great War. Tormented by nightmares, the line separating nightmare and reality is becoming increasingly blurred and the game will have you questioning exactly what is going on. Could any of this be real or is it just in the head of the poor soldier who is suffering from post-traumatic stress?
We previewed the game in June and Stefan noted the following:
“One of the most interesting decisions for Ad infinitum is to base this around a German family with some French heritage,” he said. “Within the UK, we’re inundated with films and TV shows that depict the two World Wars from the British and American perspective, and it’s easy to conflate the actions of Germany between the two wars, but the reasons for WWI’s outbreak are far more complex, and the distinction between “good” and “bad” more difficult to pin down.”
Here are the key features:
Some of the soundtrack to the game has already been released on Soundcloud, check out one of the atmospheric pieces below.,
Ad Infinitum will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC on September 14, 2023. There does not appear to be versions for the older consoles.
