There’s been renewed interest in Cyberpunk in recent weeks amidst the hype surrounding Cyberpunk 2077 and its excellent expansion, Phantom Liberty, and those looking to dive further into the universe are seemingly going to have plenty of ways to do just that- and not just in games.
Last year, for instance, we got Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, a widely praised anime developed by Studio Trigger in collaboration with CD Projekt RED, and it seems the two companies are collaborating on another project- though details on it are next to non-existent right now.
Speaking during a recent investor presentation, when asked about how CD Projekt RED is planning on further expanding the Cyberpunk franchise beyond games, chief commercial officer Michał Nowakowski pointed to the recently-confirmed live action project being made in collaboration with Anonymous Content, before suggesting that other similar collaborations are in the works that can’t be officially announced just yet.
“Yes, we do have plans,” he said (transcription via VGC). “That’s why we have started cooperating with Anonymous Content. We want things to happen.
“Alot is happening, a lot is planned. Trigger was in 2018 but [Edgerunners] started in 2022, so for a number of years we did not speak about this because it wasn’t ready. There are plans we’d rather keep quiet until there is something to speak about, until there is really something to discuss, some concreate announcement.
“When the time comes, we’ll tell you. I know I keep repeating it, but yes, the general direction is this – to go this way, this is strategically important for us.”
