The Book of Boba Fett will end its unglorified run on Disney Plus next week, however, besides being obvious tie-ins for The Mandalorian, the series’ last two episodes also open the door for a potentially exciting finale involving its growing cast of characters.
Contrary to Disney’s Marvel shows, where the final battle is almost a given from the very start, The Mandalorian’s two seasons do not lay out a solid blueprint that tells fans exactly what to expect. Both season enders act more like the final steps of a mission and, in this case, Boba Fett’s battle for control of Tatooine becomes more interesting because of where it will leave everyone standing once the dust has settled.
How The Mandalorian Could Start The Next Big Cinematic Universe
At the end of chapter six, “From the Desert Comes a Stranger", baby Grogu is left off t make the kind of decision that shapes the galaxy’s destiny every once in a while, to become a Jedi or a Mandalorian. Now, despite all the odds favoring the kid choosing his beskar chainmail over Yoda’s lightsaber, the conditions under which he does so could affect his Star Wars fate going forward.
Considering his longevity, Grogu could very well join his adoptive dad throughout his human lifetime before continuing down the path of the force later in the future. His absence as among Luke’s doomed class of padawans would save him from Ben Solo’s raged outburst that leads to the temple’s demise, and most crucially ensure Grogu becomes a usable character in future movies or spinoffs.
