The late 2022 launch date for a newly announced Hogwarts Legacy companion book could help narrow down the action RPG's release window. Originally announced for a 2021 rollout, Hogwarts Legacy's due date remains a topic of discussion. And despite recent rumors suggesting otherwise, publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment maintains the Harry Potter-branded adventure will indeed hit digital and retail stores sometime this calendar year.
WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar doubled down on the 2022 launch in a recent string of tweets, which also insisted the long-awaited Gotham Knights will still arrive this year, as well. An industry insider known for reliably reporting on Detroit: Become Human developer Quantic Dream added another wrinkle to the Hogwarts Legacy talk in late January, too. According to the leaker, fans can expect to enter the Wizarding World of Harry Potter no later than September 2022, a fitting date if true since, in-universe, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry opens its doors each year on September 1.

Interestingly, new details suggest Hogwarts Legacy's secretive release window could indeed fall sometime in the back half of 2022. This much seems evident in news relayed by The Rowling Library (via CBR), which reports that Insight Editions plans to publish companion book The Art and Making of Hogwarts Legacy on September 6 of this year. The September date for the companion tome could give credence to previous claims that Hogwarts Legacy will arrive around the same time.
