The Team GO Rocket Strikes Back event is currently active in Pokémon Go. Like many of the other limited-time events, this one also features its own set of exclusive Field Research Tasks and rewards. This is acting as the second half of the Power Plant event, an event dedicated to Electric-type Pokémon. Pokémon Go even introduced Heliolisk and Helioptile, two popular Electric-type Pokémon from the Kalos region, to the game for the very first time.
The second half of the Pokémon GoPower Plant event is heavily focused on taking down members of Team GO Rocket. It will take place from Monday, January 24th at 12 am local time to Tuesday, February 1st at 10 am local time. They are directly responsible for capturing Pokémon and closing their hearts, transforming them into fighting machines. Once the player defeats the Team Rocket Grunt, they can capture a Shadow Pokémon and purify its heart. Much of this event Field Research is dedicated to taking down Team GO Rocket.
