Pokemon Scarlet & Violet's Next Tera Raid Stars A Ghost-Type Typhlosion

Scarlet & Violet will continue its run of introducing previously unavailable Pokemon to Paldea later this week when it introduces Typhlosion. It won't just be dropping the fully evolved gen two Fire-type out into the wild, though. You're going to need to beat a Tera-type Typhlosion in a seven-star raid, and just to make things even more difficult than they already are, it's been revealed this particular Typhlosion becomes a Ghost-type when it terastillizes.

“Typhlosion with the Mightiest Mark will be appearing in black crystal Tera Raids throughout #PokemonScarletViolet later this week,” Play Pokemon tweeted on Monday. Notable not only because it will make the Paldean Pokedex one Pokemon longer, but because it will be making its debut in Scarlet & Violet before its pre-evolved forms, Cyndaquil and Quilava. Perhaps an indicator that they will be two of the rumored 230 Pokemon added to the game through The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC later this year.

The Typhlosion Tera raid will go live at 8 PM EST on Thursday, April 13 and the black crystals you will need to track down to activate the raid will be dotted around Paldea until 7:59 PM EST on April 16. As per usual with Scarlet & Violet's seven-star raids, if you fail to take down and catch a Typhlosion during the first window, it will return later this month. The second window will be open at the same times between April 21 and April 23.
