Typhlosion made its Pokemon Scarlet & Violet debut this month via the latest Tera raid. If you failed to get the Ghost-type the first time around, Typhlosion will return to seven-star raids this weekend. One plucky trainer with a lowly Magikarp won't need to worry about catching the visiting Pokemon, taking it down the first time around in one hit, and yes, that one hit did come from the aforementioned Magikarp.
If you're in your 30s like I am, then you've probably attached a stigma to Magikarp after discovering it to be pretty much useless when introduced to it for the first time 25 years ago. Turns out Magikarp has come a long way since splashing around in Red & Blue. Nommable123 took their flopping fish into a Tera raid against Typhlosion and thanks to the combined efforts of the other Pokemon sharing the raid with them, the sole shot dealt, which came from Magikarp, depleted the intimidating gen two foe's health in one go.

Now, before you route through your boxes for the Magikarp you caught an hour into the game and start training it up, a very specific set of circumstances led to this particular fish Pokemon packing the punch (can fish punch?) that it did. The OP has listed all of the factors that allowed Magikarp's Flail to have such a devastating effect. Luxray's Swagger, Samurott's Screech, and Sylveon's Helping Hand are just some of the steps that lower Typhlosion's defense and increase Magikarp's attack, preparing for the one and final blow.
Some of you will watch the clip above and take inspiration from it. If you're lucky enough to have a group of friends you raid with, it may even be possible to replicate Magikarp's finest hour this weekend
