The popularity of the Pokemon franchise means that there's always a new game in the series in the works in some capacity, though many were still surprised to see Nintendo announce Pokemon Scarlet and Violet so soon after releasing Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have been mostly quiet since the initial reveal trailer dropped, but now a fresh trailer has been released that reveals a ton of exciting new details about the games, including their release date.
As revealed at the end of the latest Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trailer, the games will be available on Friday, November 18, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch. The trailer also gave fans a look at some of the Pokemon that will be featured in the game, including the two legendary Pokemon that will be featured on the cover art: Koraidon and Miraodon, with the former exclusive to Pokemon Scarlet and the latter exclusive to Pokemon Violet.
Known Pokemon Leaker Hints at New Gen 2 Evolution in Scarlet and Violet
It was heavily hinted by leakers that the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet legendaries would be dragons, and that appears to have been accurate. They both have wheel shapes sticking out of their chests, but what's especially interesting about Miraodon is the jet engine it has instead of legs. Overall, Miraodon has more of a mechanical look, whereas Koraidon appears to be a more organic, traditional-looking dragon.
Besides confirming the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet release date, the trailer also introduced fans to the two new professors they will be interacting with during their journey.
