While Pokemon as a franchise is certainly as strong as ever, that doesn't mean that everything about the games has always been praised. While the gameplay becoming stagnant has been an issue for some players with prior iterations of the main series, others have been disappointed by the lack of being able to «catch 'em all» due to not all Pokemon being available in the game.
Unfortunately for those who were disappointed by Pokemon Sword and Shield not including all Pokemon, it looks like the same may be true of the next main entries, as well. Based on an official Pokemon site, it sounds as though Pokemon Scarlet and Violet won't let players catch or access all Pokemon either.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Starter Names Revealed
It may not surprise fans that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet may not let players find and catch every single Pokemon ever added to the series in a single game. However, what's likely to be disappointing here is that select Pokemon previously captured and stored via Pokemon Home likely won't be able to be imported, either. Fine print alluding to this was discovered on the official Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Japanese website.
As shared by Serebii, the fine print states that only select Pokemon stored in Pokemon Home can be transferred to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. The transfers allow «select Pokemon limited to the Pokemon that appear in each software” to be brought into Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. While it's possible that this is simply a placeholder disclaimer, it's likely that the trend of limiting which Pokemon can be accessed in a game will continue.
