Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is getting connectivity with Pokemon GO. Integration between these games comes with bonuses that will bridge certain unique features of each game as a precursor to eventual connectivity to Pokemon Home.
Prior to the launch of Scarlet and Violet, Niantic introduced some interesting features to Pokemon GO. Golden PokeStops and Gimmighoul began spawning in-game, but players could not catch Gimmighoul. Niantic also revitalized the Postcards trainers get from sending gifts to friends. Now both of these features are being expanded on thanks to the upcoming connection between Pokemon GO and Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Players will soon be able to transfer the postcards they have been collecting in Pokemon GO into Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, causing new Vivillon patterns to appear. This adds a streamlined method to collecting Vivillon patterns for trainers that play Pokemon GO and Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. They will need just the location data from one postcard to get a new pattern in Scarlet and Violet, rather than the slow process of getting a minimum 3 candies per catch on the path to 125 candies it takes to evolve Scatterbug to Vivillon with a different pattern.
In return, players will be able to catch Roaming Form Gimmighoul in Pokemon GO. By sending a postcard to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, the Coin Bag is unlocked in Pokemon GO. The Coin Bag will cause Gimmighoul will begin spawning in Pokemon GO around the trainer for a limited time like Incense. This can only be done once a day and trainers will have to wait until the feature is unlocked in both games to see how many coins each Gimmighoul encounter will reward. The bonus will help
