If you though awards season was over, think again. BAFTA Games is back, reflecting on 2022's software lineup in its list of nominees. The biggest story here is that God of War Ragnarok, Santa Monica Studio's grand sequel, has been nominated for the most awards in the award ceremony's history. Including six nods for individual performances, the game has been recognised with a total of 15 nominations.
Ragnarok is up for every category it qualifies for, including Animation, Game Design, Music, Best Game, and the EE Game of the Year award. Actors receiving a nomination for their leading or support roles are Christopher Judge (Kratos), Sunny Suljic (Atreus), Adam J. Harrington (Sindri), Danielle Bisutti (Freya), Laya Deleon Hayes (Angrboda), and Ryan Hurst (Thor). Phew!
It's not the only Sony first-party game nominated, though. Horizon Forbidden West gets six nods, while The Last of Us: Part I and Dreams each earn one nomination each (Technical Achievement and Evolving Game respectively).
Other highly nominated titles include Stray, Elden Ring, Immortality, and Vampire Survivors — the latter two aren't on PlayStation, but hopefully make the leap sooner or later.
The awards ceremony itself is scheduled to take place on 30th March and, if you're interested, you will be able to watch along via Twitch. See the full list of nominations below, and tell us what you think in the comments.
