Pokemon GO has released the fourth and final update for its Rediscover campaign. In an effort to keep current players engaged and potentially bring lapsed players back into the fold, developer Niantic has been releasing a series of updates for Pokemon GO meant to outfit the game with serious upgrades. The Pokemon GO Rediscover campaign started back in April, and it has unfortunately been a mixed bag so far.
The Pokemon GO Rediscover campaign started with «Rediscover Yourself,» which saw hugely controversial changes made to the game's avatars. The Pokemon GO avatar changes have been widely panned by the game's community, with many fans incredibly unhappy with how their avatars look post-update. Considering the widespread negative response to the avatar changes, there are some hoping Niantic will reverse course, though it has not announced any plans to do so.
In the meantime, the fourth and final Pokemon GO Rediscover update is available to download right now. Titled «Rediscover Your Reality,» the last Pokemon GO Rediscover update is all about enhancing the game's augmented reality features, particularly GO Snapshot. After downloading the update, Pokemon GO players can include up to three Pokemon in their snapshots, with the game providing group set suggestions. Players are able to choose how to position the Pokemon and interact with them using a new toy, with the option of further editing the photos after. Players are also able to take advantage of the new burst mode and timer features.
Compared to the controversial avatar changes, it's likely that the Rediscover Your Reality update will be well-received. After all, the changes made to Pokemon GO biomes with the Rediscover Your World update seem to be considered a general improvement by players, and so it's hard to see how many will take issue with the GO Snapshot upgrades.
