Pokémon GO is adding a new daily Incense item that will make it easier to encounter and capture rare Pokémon, including Legendaries. Niantic’s blockbuster augmented reality mobile title allows players to explore their real-life environment in search of a wide assortment of collectible elementally empowered creatures to capture, train, and pit against other users in turn-based battles — just like they do in the mainline Pokémon games.
Even six years after Pokémon GO was first released, players continue to log on in hopes of finding the newest Pokémon, and it’s the element of unpredictability over what creatures the user will come across next that has helped keep fans coming back for more. Niantic has also made plenty of tweaks to Pokémon GO’s gameplay over the years, adjusting the likelihood of players encountering certain Pokémon and adding new features like the Campfire social app that lets players organize Raids and other cooperative events with their friends. Not every change to Pokémon GO has been a welcome one, and many players have lamented missing out on a special Pokémon GO Community Day event or two on account of technical issues in the past.

Yesterday, PokémonGoLive.com announced that the developers of Pokémon GO are adding a new in-game item called Daily Adventure Incense next week. Players will receive one Daily Adventure Incense per day and can only hold one at a time, but once it is activated the player will be more likely to encounter seldomly seen Pokémon species over the following 15 minutes — including ultra-rare Legendaries like Pokemon GO’s Shadow Latios.
