Netflix's Sex Education season 4 has begun filming. The coming-of-age British comedy has proved to be wildly popular on Netflix since its debut in 2019. The show centers around the Moordale Secondary school, charting the personal adventures and sexual exploits of its students, teachers, and parents. The show is not only a ratings hit but has also earned rave reviews from critics, who laud the thoughtful handling of its subject matter and passionate YA storytelling. Season 3 premiered after a long delay in 2021, and only a week after its debut, Sex Education was renewed for season 4, which could possibly be its last.

Although it took some time for work on the show to get underway, it finally looks like Sex Education has begun filming for season 4. Asa Butterfield provided the update on Instagram by sharing a picture of himself by his vanity trailer as he presumably geared up to start production on the show. It can be argued that when Sex Education returns to Netflix, it will feel like a completely different show. The explosive season 3 ending saw Moordale shutting down, and while many expected season 4 to reverse that decision, it seems that the show is taking an entirely different route, tracking the central characters' lives as they move to a new school.
