Snap is rolling out four new features for its Snapchat+ premium service, while also announcing a major milestone for subscriber numbers.
Snapchat+ launched back in June as a way of offering Snapchat users exclusive, experimental, and pre-release features in return for $3.99 per month. Six weeks on, and Snapchat+ already has over 1 million paying subscribers(Opens in a new window), which amounts to more than $4 million per month in subscription revenue.
Those subscribers will discover there's four new features to play with starting today. The first is Priority Story Replies, which automatically makes replies more visible to Snap Stars. Then there's Post View Emoji, which is Snap's way of offering a signature using an emoji. Subscribers can select an emjoi which will be shown to your friends after they view your Snaps.
A range of special Bitmoji backgrounds are being introduced as a way of offering a bit more "flair," with the options including marble, gold, and a beach scene. And finally, new designs for the Snapchat app icon are being made available to help "change up your homescreen."
The new features follow Snap introducing access to Snapchat on the web last month, which is also a feature currently limited to Snapchat+ users. It means message, voice, and video calls can all be made from the desktop rather than relying on a mobile device.
Snap has also rapidly increased the number of locations that allow access to Snapchat+.
