Some attentive fans have put forth a theory regarding the setting of the upcoming game Pokemon Legends: Z-A, suggesting it will take place in the future instead of the past. Pokemon Legends: Z-A was first revealed at the Pokemon Day event this past February, and it is set to revisit the formula of Pokemon Legends: Arceus. On top of that, Mauville City underwent a major redevelopment plan in ORAS, where the city's gym leader and founder, Wattson, modeled the interior city after the design of Kalos' Lumiose City.
Before the events of the game, the original founders of Great Mauville attempted to establish three different ventures using Infinity Energy.
