Since the catching mini-game on the Pokewalker is basic and luck based, the player was not able to capture a Spiritomb until their fourth try.
Ryguy55 stated that they were also big on using the Dowsing Machine on the Pokewalker, which allowed them to find items. They would use it to find rarer items found in Pokemon games such as Heart Scales, Rare Candies, TMs, and more. The gamer mentioned that by the end their step count had reached 2,234,829, which comes out to a total of 1,117 miles walked. They said it will feel a little weird not carrying the Pokewalker around anymore but that they did enjoy the journey and all the fresh air.
