Video game adaptations are more relevant than ever nowadays, mostly down to high-profile successes like HBO's The Last of Us and The Super Mario Bros. Movie. Every publisher under the sun is looking for a much-beloved franchise for a potential adaptation, and you wont find many out there with more IP in the bank than PlayStation. Of course, it already has it's foot in the door with the aformentioned Last of Us TV show and the recently released Uncharted movie, but it's looking like the company has no intention of slowing down any time soon.
In the latest episode of the Official PlayStation Podcast, head of PlayStation Productions Asad Qizilbash spoke about the challenges of adapting video game titles into movies and TV shows, whilst also revealing how many projects it has underway at the moment. According to Qizilibash, PlayStation Productions is working on ten different adaptations which include movies, television, and a "little bit of animation".

"So we've got ten projects in various stages of development, which is really exciting," says Qizilbash when asked what PlayStation Productions is currently working on. "Film, television, a little bit of animation as well, and what's really exciting for me is the diversity of the stories we've got."
We knew that PlayStation had plenty of adaptations in the works - it felt for a little while that we couldn't go two weeks without it announcing one of its big franchises will be getting a movie or TV show.
