Peacock announces Sarah Hyland, Jameela Jamil and Lera Abova have joined the cast of the upcoming Pitch Perfect spinoff show. Based on the trilogy of successful musical-comedies by the same name, the show was first announced in 2021 as a collaboration between Peacock and Universal Pictures. It will see the return of Adam Devine as his character Bumper who, after one of his songs goes big in Berlin, heads to Germany to try and forge a music career.
Now, Peacock have announced more of the cast for the upcoming show, revealing Sarah Hyland, Jameela Jamil and Lera Abova have been added to the cast of thePitch Perfect show as series regulars. Hyland will take on the role of Heidi, Bumper and Pieter’s cheery assistant with dreams of her own, while Jamil will play Gisela, an up-and-coming German pop star and Bumper’s main rival. Abova, on the other hand, will play the cool, calm and collected Anna, a famous Berlin DJ and Pieter’s sister.

While no more details about the plot have been revealed just yet, it seems as if the show will try and recreate the magic of the trilogy, which grossed over $600 million worldwide. This is helped by the return of Elizabeth Banks returning for the Pitch Perfect show, who starred in all three and directed the second film. With the announcement of the expanded cast, the Pitch Perfect show looks set to capture the quirkiness that drew in audiences around the world.
