Atlus and Nintendo have a long history, with many of the Persona maker’s games coming to Nintendo platforms (often exclusively) over the decades. That said, in recent years new Atlus games being on Nintendo platforms has ceased to be a lock, with games like Soul Hackers 2 and upcoming titles like Persona 3 Reload and Metaphor: ReFantazio skipping the Switch. Has the relationship between Atlus and Nintendo soured? Not so fast.
In a recent exchange on X, Atlus insider “MbKKssTBhz5” responded to a story about the publisher specifically deciding not to bring Persona 3 Reload to Switch by saying this is because “P3R will be on the next Nintendo hardware. And Metaphor too.” As always with rumors, take this with a grain of salt, but this insider has delivered the goods when it comes to Atlus multiple times in the past.
Given the rumors we’ve heard about Nintendo’s Switch successor, Atlus bringing their latest games to it would certainly make sense. The system might not deliver the pure processing grunt of the PS5/XSX, but Atlus games usually aren’t that technically demanding, and rumored Switch 2 support for DLSS 3 should make the games' stylish art look extra nice and crisp.
