With yesterday's hotfixes, Blizzard has drastically improved Patron Work Orders, increasing the odds Patrons will provide reagents and removing some of the more expensive to craft items from the list of possible items that can be commissioned by Patrons. Let's take a look at the detailed changes.
Blue Post
- Patron Orders
All customers (except for the Artisan's Consortium) now have a chance to provide basic reagents. - Increased the likelihood for all customers to provide basic reagents.
- Lowered the quality requirement on many potential orders that grant specialization points by 1.
- Addressed several rare cases where a customer could request a minimum quality for items without quality.
- Removed several abnormally expensive orders from the pool of potential Patron Orders, such as Alchemy Cauldrons, Engineering Toys, and Darkmoon Sigils.
Developers' notes: All of the above changes only apply to newly created orders, existing orders should remain unchanged.
Reagent Changes
Looking at the game data, every Patron order has an NPC that submitted it. Each NPC has a custom chance to provide a reagent or not.
This chance is applied for each of the reagents from the order. For instance, if Vokgret submits an order with three distinct reagents, each will have a 40% individual chance to be provided.
Note that these changes are only for orders that showed up since the hotfix was applied, it isn't retroactive.
