Fans of Overwatch 2 and Metal Gear Solid have come up with a few ideas on how both games could potentially have a crossover. Considering how a cyborg ninja is one of Overwatch 2's most iconic characters — something that Metal Gear Solid is known for having several of in the form of Gray Fox and Raiden, as well as similarities between several characters in both series — a collaboration between them would not be that far-fetched.
Overwatch 2 is no longer a stranger to collaborations with other works of media. Considering that Overwatch 2 is collaborating with the anime One-Punch Man, developer Blizzard is clearly willing to have events built around properties that might not be the first titles to come to mind for most fans. To some, a collaboration like this opens up the possibility of other games or shows receiving an event revolving around them.

Notable concepts include Big Boss's appearance in Metal Gear Solid 4 being a skin for Soldier 76, especially given their remarkably similar beards and appearance in age, and Revolver Ocelot being one for Cassidy since both use a six-shooter as their weapon of choice and have a Wild West aesthetic.
