Rumors of a Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater remake have been doing the rounds on the internet for years at this point and today, the fans anticipating the upgrade received some exciting news. This supposed remake of Metal Gear Solid 3 may be coming a lot sooner than was originally thought. The Metal Gear Solid series, created by game designer Hideo Kojima, is known for its innovation in stealth-action gameplay and its dense and sophisticated storytelling, which resulted in the creation of some of gaming's most iconic characters.
The series has garnered a loyal fanbase over the decades since it began, however most of those fans idolize Kojima over Konami, the Japanese company who holds the MGS rights and is responsible for publishing the series. A very messy falling out took place between Kojima and Konami at the end of 2015, following the launch of Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain. Since then, the stealth-action franchise has been on an extended hiatus, barring a poorly received spinoff called Metal Gear Survive that launched in 2018.

Although the majority of fans were aware that this remake was in development, a recent revelation has re-ignited interest in the project. According to VGC's Andy Robinson, gamers can expect to see a Metal Gear Solid 3 remake revealed around E3 this coming summer, with a planned release date some time in 2024. In addition to the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake, there are also alleged plans to re-release other Metal Gear Solid games, although it's unclear at this point which games will be re-released, and which form those re-releases will take.
