Brendan O'Brien, the voice actor behind many iconic characters from the Naughty Dog era of Crash Bandicoot, has passed away aged 60. Best known for his role as the eponymous Crash Bandicoot, O'Brien also voiced Neo Cortex, N. Gin, Nitrus Brio and Tiny Tiger in the original trilogy on PS1, as well as various other characters in spinoffs like Crash Team Racing and Crash Bash.
On social media and on the obituary site Legacy, fans are sharing fond and emotional memories of their experiences with O'Brien's work. While hardware limitations made extended line reads virtually impossible on PS1, nostalgic barks like «woah», delivered just so, can form the kind of impression that lasts a lifetime.
Our thoughts are with Brendan's family and friends. Share your memories and offer well wishes in the comments section below.
