While these ways to make life on the islands easier are often horrifying in theory, they also have a tendency to work well, making it beneficial to forgo ethics and morals when trying to survive as a Palworld Tamer, and making it possible to capture creatures with ease that would have been deadly encounters before.
The island has both regular merchants and Black Marketeers, who sell Pals that are more difficult to find in the wild. Finding the Black Marketeers can be a challenge already because they tend to be hidden in locations such as caves. However, capturing a Black Marketeer as a Pal means that they can be summoned to a base at any time for buying and selling. The problem is that they can be tough to capture since attacking them leads to them pulling out a gun and fighting back.
Considering how useful Black Marketeers are for collecting Pals that are difficult to find and capture, turning one into a personal merchant at bases can be incredibly convenient. Luckily, there's a trick that keeps them from fighting back. Building a Hanging Trap next to the Black Marketeer grabs them right as it's finished being built. A new update fixed Capture Power bug, which properly increases Capture Power with Lifmunk Effigies now, making it easier to capture creatures or NPCs like the Black Marketeer. However, PocketPair mentioned in its patch notes that it's focused on fixing exploits that castaways use to break the game in ways that benefit them. As such, it's possible that this method of trapping and capturing the Black Marketeer could be removed in the future, so use it while it's available.
