Although players do meet each of these eight Travelers eventually in any story they choose, the early game perspective is vastly different between every character. Some have more challenges to overcome right at the start, while others have a deeper relationship with the overall conflicts in the world of Salistia.

It should be noted that there is no wrong choice for which Traveler order players choose, as any return to the game's opening provides a distinct experience through each hero's story. No matter what character players start with in , the protagonist they choose must remain in their party throughout the narrative despite the companions met along the way. The best order to choose Travelers may revolve around how difficult their opening chapters are, and how well players can adjust to a certain character's skills against enemies early in the game.
