The upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series has reportedly cast Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea in an unknown role. With the release date being only a few short weeks away, more details about the show are slowly coming to light, especially when it comes to its impressive cast. Series director Deborah Chow recently teased in an interview that fans should be expecting some major surprises—which could be anything from rumored character returns to perhaps a few celebrity cameos.
As reported by StarWarsNewsNet, the Obi-Wan Kenobi show will reportedly feature an appearance by Flea, though any specifics surrounding his role remain unknown. According to the source, Flea's character will allegedly be wielding a sharp-looking blaster. This will mark Flea's first appearance in any Star Wars media, though he does have a long history of roles in several major motion pictures like Back to the Future Part II (1989), The Big Lebowski (1998), and, most recently, Baby Driver (2017).

Flea's rumored casting in the show shouldn't come as a big surprise to fans of Star Wars. After all, the franchise has a long track record of cameos from pop culture icons, including Daniel Craig in the sequel films, Danny Trejo in The Book of Boba Fett, and Bill Burr and Jason Sudeikis in The Mandalorian. However, musicians appearing in Star Wars projects are slightly less common, with the most recent example being Thundercat, who made an appearance in Chapter 4 of The Book of Boba Fett. It'll certainly be interesting to see how big of a role Flea will have in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, which debuts its first two episodes on May 27th, exclusively on Disney+.
