Actor Ewan McGregor appears to have hinted that the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi Star Wars series could tie into a potential Jedi: Fallen Order sequel.
McGregor was speaking on the Jimmy Kimmel show this week in anticipation for the Disney+ show’s release later this month, as reported by IGN.
Over the course of the interview, the actor praised director Deborah Chow for her extensive Star Wars knowledge, which he said was important because “all of the storylines have to … match up” and you “can’t have some fact in a video game that doesn’t match up to the movie.”
Fallen Order, which is officially set to receive a sequel in the near future, takes place during roughly the same timeline as the Obi-Wan series, so it would not be surprising to see the two link together narratively.
Both Fallen Order and the Kenobi series also share villains in The Inquisitors, the enforcers Darth Vader uses to hunt down rogue Jedi.
In January, EA officially announced a sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, along with two other projects in development at new teams within Respawn.
The sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will be released in 2023 for new gen systems, it’s been claimed.
Disney is ramping up for Jedi: Fallen Order 2 with the release of new merchandise, such as an unannounced Lego set and a lightsaber being sold at its parks.
Commenting on EA’s relationship with Lucasfilm during its third-quarter earnings call last February, CEO Andrew Wilson said the company would continue to invest in Star Wars games new and old.
