After The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, Obi-Wan Kenobi is hinting that it could have the same Star Wars canon issues as its predecessors. Following the underwhelming ending of the Boba Fett-centered series, Obi-Wan Kenobi will be the next big Star Wars production on Disney+ and will see Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen reprise their roles as Obi-Wan and Darth Vader. The series will be helmed by Deborah Chow and is set to premiere on May 25 — a very special date for Star Wars.
Obi-Wan Kenobi marks the first time audiences will get to see Ewan McGregor's version of the legendary Jedi Master since his last appearance in Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of The Sith. Even before the recent shift in the general perception of the prequels, McGregor's Obi-Wan was always mentioned as one of the main strengths of Episodes I, II, and III. After years of speculation and wishful thinking, fans will finally be able to catch a glimpse of Obi-Wan's lonely journey as Luke Skywalker's protector in the deserts of Tatooine in a series that will help fill the gaps between Revenge of The Sith and New Hope.

Although it is a direct continuation of one of the most popular films in the saga, Obi-Wan Kenobi is also going to lean heavily in the broader Star Wars universe — especially in the lore of Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels.
