Among the slew of new images from the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi limited series released this week, one teases the appearance of a young Luke Skywalker on the Disney+ series. With its May 25 release date getting closer and closer, audiences have been anticipating promotional material offering a closer look at the anticipated show. Now, the wait is over.
The new Star Wars series will pick up ten years after the events of Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith (meaning ten years before the events of Star Wars: Episode IV — A New Hope) and find the former Jedi Knight, played once again by Ewan McGregor, reprising his role from the prequel films, residing on the barren desert planet of Tatooine. Seeing as Luke and Leia were born at the end of Revenge of the Sith, the timeline dictates that they would both be ten years old at this point. Living in exile, Kenobi will struggle to survive as Jedi Hunters and Imperial Inquisitors search across the stars for remaining Jedi warriors, all while he keeps a watchful eye on the young future hero who will one day free the galaxy from the Empire's tyrannical reign.
